How saving a note works

  1. Write your note above. On this page, Editable note and Never are already selected.
  2. Press Create link. You get two links.
  3. The read link opens the note on any device. Share it, bookmark it or turn it into a QR code.
  4. The sender link is private. It opens an editor where you can change the note or delete it. Bookmark it and don’t share it.

There’s no account, so the sender link is your key. TxtVanish never asks for your email, so it can’t be sent to you again. Save it somewhere you’ll find it, such as your browser bookmarks or a password manager.

Hosting text for other people to read

The read link is a clean page with a copy and a download button, so it works well for handing text to a handful of people. It isn’t for publishing to the world, though. Note pages tell search engines not to index them, so people only find a note if you give them the link. That’s the point for private notes, but if you want something discoverable on Google, publish it on a blog or a public paste site instead.

How long notes are kept

You choose when you save it: a day, a week, a month, a date you pick, or no expiry at all. You can delete a note from its sender link at any time. Each note holds up to 32 KB of text, around 5,000 words, and can carry one attached file of up to 10 MB, which is deleted after 7 days.

Keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose. A note is a convenient place to keep text, not a backup.

Questions

Do I need an account to save text?

No. When you save a note you get two links: one to read it and a private sender link to edit or delete it. The sender link works as your key, so keep it somewhere safe.

What if I lose the edit link?

It can’t be sent again, because TxtVanish never asks for your email. You can still read the note with its normal link, but you won’t be able to edit it.

How long is my text kept?

For as long as you choose when you save it: a day, a week, a month, a date you pick, or no expiry. You can delete it yourself at any time.

Will my note show up in Google?

No. Note pages tell search engines not to index them. Only people you give the link to can find them.
